About Me

Hi! Im Morgan

My journey into the birth world began in 2019 when I became pregnant with my son. After having an incredible experience with midwives at a birth center, I felt a strong conviction that all women deserve the same positive experience I had. This inspired me to dive deep into education, exploring every book and resource I could find about birth.

Along the way, I embraced a spiritual path, becoming a certified sound healer and a Reiki Level 1 practitioner. My holistic birth doula training felt like a natural extension of everything I’ve learned and believe in. I truly see birth as a normal, transformative, and magical experience, and I’m passionate about supporting others through this journey.

In my free time, I love spending time outdoors in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I enjoy learning about herbalism, gardening, cooking, and collecting rocks. With a background in geology, I have a deep appreciation for the Earth and the power it holds. Most days, you’ll find me exploring the wonders of the world with my adventurous 4-year-old, cherishing every moment of discovery together.

What is a doula?

What a Doula Is:

  1. Supportive Companion: A doula provides emotional and physical support to the birthing person throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period.
  2. Informed Advocate: Doulas help facilitate communication between the birthing person and healthcare providers, ensuring that the individual’s wishes and preferences are understood.
  3. Educator: Doulas offer evidence-based information about childbirth, comfort measures, and newborn care, helping families make informed choices.
  4. Comfort Provider: They assist with pain relief techniques, such as massage, positioning, and breathing exercises during labor.
  5. Postpartum Support: Doulas can offer guidance and support in the early days after birth, helping with feeding, newborn care, and emotional adjustment.
  6. Holistic Approach: Many doulas incorporate holistic practices, such as sound healing or mindfulness, to support the well-being of the birthing person.

What a Doula Is Not:

  1. Medical Professional: Doulas do not provide medical care, perform clinical tasks, or make medical decisions.
  2. Substitute for Healthcare Providers: Doulas work alongside midwives, doctors, and other healthcare professionals, not as replacements for them.
  3. Decision-Maker: Doulas do not make decisions for the birthing person; instead, they empower individuals to make their own informed choices.
  4. Therapist or Counselor: While they provide emotional support, doulas are not licensed therapists and do not provide mental health counseling.

I support births at hospitals, birth centers and homebirth. I don't attend births without trained medical professionals present.
